People who drive fast, What is your highest speed record?

185 kph (115 mph). That was on the autobahn in some kind of rented VW (not a bug, obviously). I wanted to go faster, but my parents were passengers and started getting very nervous. And it might not have been so bad in a better car.

At home, in the U. S., probably 100 mph. And that has been on highways where other cars are going even faster. The speed limit is 75 mph on some highways, so it's not uncommon for traffic to go at least 85 or 90. I have no problem navigating a car.

I started driving when I was 16 and was pretty wild for quite a few years. I'm comfortable behind the wheel.
One of my first cars was a '63 Buick LeSabre 2 door hard top with a 401 cu inch engine. That car was fantastic.
Another car was a semi-race '72 El Camino. That thing could really go.
Both of those cars were very stable.

Modern cars cruise effortlessly at 75 or 80 mph without pushing the accelerator much at all, so I have no problem going fast as long as it is safe and as long as I can be fairly assured of not getting pulled over.

I don't drive fast but I think the fastest I ever went was 80. I was driving the band home from a gig up in Erie and listening to music on the car stereo and, being a drummer, started using the gas pedal as one of my bass pedals and, before I knew it, I was going about 35 mph over the speed limit!! From that point onwards, I stopped listening to music while driving.
So far, the only accident I've had was when I was going about half a mile an hour. I was sitting in a line of traffic and apparently didn't have the break pedal all the way down and the car inched forward a bit until I bumped the car in front of me. No damage was done and the people in the other car didn't even get out to see what happened.

I rented a little car in Orlando. I drove out to The space center. There was no one on the road so I decided to go as fast as I possibly can for fun. By the time I reached 105, the car started to shake. I had to slow down since I didn’t want to get stuck in the middle of no where with a rental car.
my Lexus can go well above 105. When I get the opportunity, I’ll do that.

Probably 85mph on a long stretch of Highway. I’m pretty certain the speed limit was 80.  I don’t care to drive fast, to be honest. I would prefer to get place to place safely.
