✨Bye bye Miss American pie ✨
Helter skelter in the summer swelter
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eight miles high and falling fast
It landed foul on the grass, the players tried for a forward pass
With the jester on the sidelines in a castI have no proof of it, but I'm pretty sure the song writer was on the same shrooms as the writer who wrote "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

The expression "The day the music died" refers to February 3, 1959, when there was a tragic plane crash in Iowa, United States, in which three rock and roll icons died: Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson.
They were doing a tour of the United States known as "Winter Dance Party" and after a concert in Clear Lake, Iowa, they flew to Fargo, North Dakota.
However, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff, claiming the lives of the three musicians, as well as the pilot, Roger Peterson.
The tragedy shocked the music world and became an iconic event that marked the end of the golden age of rock and roll.
Don McLean's song "American Pie", written in 1971, references the event, calling it "the day the music died".
Buddy Holly told Waylon Jennings, I hope your bus freezes up to which Jennings replied I hope your plane crashes. Interesting and eerie to think, telling someone you hope their plane crashes only for it to actually crash. Fun fact, Don McLean, who wrote American Pi, was a paper boy when the plane crash happened hence the line "But February made me shiver With every paper I'd deliver"
