Two GREAT MUSIC DEATHS recently, don't you think?

In the past few days, two well-known and respected singers have passed away.

American Crooner Tony Bennett had his signature song "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" while Irish-born Sinead O'Connor was known for her #1 chart-topper "Nothing Compares 2U".

Sinead O'Connor only hit the charts because she used Prince's song. She didn't even write it. Her lack of talent is obvious in the fact thats is pretty much the only song anyone knows her for.

Tony Bennett on the other hand is extremely well known and extremely talented. He has a wide range of songs a number of which have made the charts multiple times.

Comparing the two is like comparing an ant to a tiger.

The ant (Sinead) you hear about in passing and well that's about it, there's no interest there's no oh my goodness she's on the radio.

The tiger (Tony) you honor and respect. For the older generation he most certainly was not a passing thought and anybody who has any musical knowledge knows who he is.

Hardly a lack of talent, her life was terrible. If her mental health wasn't as bad as it was she'd have had a great career. She was shunted into an awful workhouse were abuse from nuns was rife. Her career cut short because she tore up a picture of the pope live on TV, deemed to controversial and blackballed.

Sinead wasn't that old either. According to the news a teenager in Dublin, she was placed in one of theformer Magdalene laundries, originally set up to incarcerate young girls deemed to be promiscuous where girls were used as slaves. That's going to seriously affect your mental health all your life.

Singers die everyday. Remember Selena Perez the Mexican-American latin pop singer back in 1990's. She was loved by all until a tragic fetal gunshot that caused her life 🥺

Never really cared for Sinead. Tony was good, but I preferred some of the other crooners of the time.

my mum and me where huge fans of Sinead o Conner and her song for my dad when they where together and after they fell out was nothing compares 2 u and then he died when i was 18 i remember being a little girl. and hearing her playing that CD all the time and crying

sinead o'conner was only 56 how did she die? but her album/cd the 1st one was great and the only one i have... i got it way after it came out obviously but based on that she was a musical talent to be reckoned with... tony bennett i always like i left my heart but definitely a mega musical talent... then his album with lady gaga was something else.

Tony Bennett had a great life. He was a smooth panty dropper since the 1940s. Amazing.

Sinead O’Connor was absolutely right when she tore the Pope’s picture up on SNL. I hated that she did that at the time but now see how right she was and I say this as a Catholic. I wish she was still here.

Tony Bennett had a long career. He was the last one of his era. I am not too familiar with Sinead O'connor.
