This commercial, titled "Time", from Dodge circa 1996-7 (*) just before the Dodge Durango came out. When the Durango debuted, the commercial was altered. I don't think it was the first time I saw the commercial, but I did see it some weekend during an NHL broadcast on Fox. Years later, I even chatted with the cinematographer for the commercial. He told me that they filmed the cars; the cars were not computer-generated from scratch. It is obvious though that the effects in the commercial were computerized. I'd love to know who did the music. Here are three different uploads of this commercial. This is the copy which is very good and narrated by the late, great actor Edward Herrmann who was Dodge's spokesman for about a decade. "It's about time. And finding faster ways to take new ideas from drawing board to reality. It's about the search for methods to make machinery last longer Or make a long drive, seem shorter.  It's about making time to look beyond the obvious. And, most of all, it's about taking time to listen. All things change through time. Cars, trucks... and a company." It's not a well-remembered commercial, but it was very impressive at the time. Firstly, because of the CGI - there were no commercials this impressive at the time. Second, this was during Chrysler's push to have the public re-assess them since they were the smallest of the "Big 3 Automakers", thus you see "The New Dodge" which was commonplace in commercials and print ads of the late 20th Century. But, third, these Dodge and Chrysler cars had "cab forward" design which, at the time, no one else had. The cars looked futuristic and had better space. This scared the shit out of the other automakers.

I loved the 2nd generation Dodge Intrepid and drove one (my parent's rental) the day before I got married. The 2nd generation Intrepid was from 1997-2004, so this was right after the commercial which is why the commercial shows a 1st generation Intrepid. 2nd Generation Dodge Intrepid 2nd Generation Chrysler Concorde (*) The first two videos say that the commercial is from 1996, but third video is from "ewjxn" who asserts 17 FEB 1997 as its debut which I can believe. I was pretty sure that I saw it that winter.

Pepsi one. Dude driving like he's in grand theft auto 4 and gets him self a pepsi. And you'd think he blow the cashier's head off from the shotgun in his jacket but no, he drops payment and leaves the change. Drops money into this singing homeless dude's can, and doing all these nice things around the city to break up the clouds in the sky. Absolutely beautiful.
