He did no such thing. The number of women laid off was not all that much more than the men who were laid off. It's not even close to the point that he "Fired the girls".

I seriously doubt that he even knew if the layoffs would affect men or women more. Whatever criteria was used, he probably wasn't even involved except in the most general way.

Reading the complaints, it's basically a bunch of whiners who think they can do whatever the hell they want, just because they want to. No wonder they got the axe. OMG!!! They are expected to go to work. How horrible.

On top of that, it appears that Twitter was an Equal Opportunity Employer, or something similar. That means their hiring practices in the past were reverse discrimination. In other words, people were hired solely for the purpose of diversity. That means less qualified people were hired just to fulfill a reverse discrimination goal. The time for freebees ended, and the less qualified got axed.

Don't care, it's his company, he could fire everyone but his personal friends and it's still fine. No one is obligated to hire anyone, and besides, the 80% of the staff that got fired were supposedly not needed to run the company anyway.
