When we were younger, growing up, many of us played board games. Some still do.
What is your favorite board game? Do you still play?

If I had to pick just one, I'd go with Tigris and Euphrates. It's simple enough to be explained in a few minutes and played in under an hour, but deep and complex enough to be compelling, even to me. Every game plays out differently, even with the same people; some are long and peaceful building sprees, where you sweat out someone trying to come in and snatch control of your kingdom; some are bitter slugging matches, where tiny kingdoms constantly pop up in the ruins of old ones torn asunder by constant conflict; some are worthy of Machiavelli, where you build quietly off in the corner while the others start a cold war for the center, then suddenly YOU join the two, sparking a massive battle, then move in to seize what's left.
It has enough randomness that you're never quite certain of a victory, but enough strategy that veteran players will tell you luck has no place in determining who wins. Definitely a favorite of mine.
Crokinole. Super simple, I use my mind all the time reading, remembering scientific names out in the field. When I come home it's nice to just play something simple that doesn't involve a lot of thought. That being said, I like playing cards too.
Life! I HAVE to have at least one kid. But one time i had so many i had to use 2 cars to carry the fam 😂 I also like chutes/ladders, uno, and checkers, but want to learn how to play chinese checkers
Of the choices, I picked checkers. 🙂 I like yahtzee but I don't think it's technically a board game but yes, I do still play and I always kick some booty and I do take down names. Lol

Chance and skill combined, surprise trump cards, what's not to love about Mille Bornes?
A marvelous board-ish-type card game!
A true board game? Monopoly!
I guess monopoly is my favorite.. it's fun because everyone is so greedy and trying to fuck everyone over 🤣Plus if we are good players it can go on for quite some time.
Chess
I also like Stratego and Catch Phrase
When we play something with the kids I like Life and Clue
A game that almost succeeded, but not long enough to fully take off… One that I think the creators should give another try with how good app games can be these days!

Mouse Trap is a fun game. I remember when I was little I'd play it with my dad. We lost pieces to it though.
@PBandJ_Nerd I don't know that I ever actually played the game. I just loved building it and then watching it work! I never had a copy of it but, some friends of ours did and I MIGHT'VE actually played it with them, once. They were also the only ones I ever knew that had Twister and we played it at their house one night.
Dad taught us how to play Battleship long before the actual board game came out!! We'd do it on paper. I don't know if he invented it or someone on the ship he was on in the `40's when he was in the Air Force did but, that's how he was able to teach us how to play. I think the board game came out at least 5 years later.
Out of all the listed ones here, for me it's chess
Checkers I was a checkers master at pogo
online games I think I went like 42 and 0
no losses
Reversi. It is played on a 8 by 8 board, similar to a chessboard, with 64 two-sided tiles. I’m quite good at it.
I've always liked playing chess. I still play it now once in awhile
Chess. I love the design of the pieces and the way they move.
I love checkers and chess I’m trying to teach my nieces how to play
Definitely Monopoly
