488 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Growing up, we played a game called Go (from the people who did traveller's cheques, Thompsons? - no, Thomas Cook), a sheep farming game from Australia, and "Don't miss the boat". All gone now.
My sister, a born capitalist, always won Monopoly. (She ended up working for homeless charities.)
At Uni, we played Talisman (probably the initial version), among other things.
Hexen Rennen (Witch Race) with the children when they were little. Settlers of Catan when they were older.
I haven't played a board game in years.
The internet is amazing!

Favourite? I don't know. It's like asking for a favourite book, tastes change over time.

We got Squatter out recently... just about the most soul destroying phenomenon ever, boardgame or otherwise. I mean, farming is a lot of rough years, near bankruptcy and then the rains break eventually. But do you really want a board game of that? I apologise my fellow Australians inflicted that on you.

u 7 moIt's an older game called Nightmare. It plays along with a video that counts up to 60 minutes which is the time limit you have to beat the game. The turns are hectic. People around you are constantly trying to hurry you to roll the dice while others might be trying to mess you up or scare you so that they get rewarded. The main goal is to make it around the board until you can collect 6 keys, all while trying to beat the clock, the other players, and the host in the video coming in every few minutes to stop the turns and make people play mini games meant to delay players.
Even if you collect all 6 keys, you still aren't guaranteed a win. At the beginning everyone writes down their worst nightmare on a dry erase card. If you end up accidentally picking your own nightmare, you die, and are out of the game.
Like I said, completely hectic, but lots of fun.10 Reply
There are a few funny ones out now, like "Office Risk" but I combined "Fact or Crap" with old "Sorry"/"Trouble" game boards. It's more fun than just breaking out the UNO deck over the holidays.

As much as I would love to say the game OPERATION I’m not going to because that game gave me STRESS especially when the buzzer went off & the light lit up.

Life is my favorite board game & I like the payouts & the spinning thing.

I love playing Codenames! It's perfect for showcasing creative thinking and teamwork with friends or family. The thrill of trying to make connections between seemingly unrelated words is always exciting. Plus, the unpredictable nature of the game keeps it fresh and engaging! 🎲

I agree with Lily. Now there are four words I never envisaged saying about her. Four letters all the time...

1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Probably Clue -- it's a lot deeper than it appears. Otherwise word games like Scrabble and Boggle, if those count. Mostly I play bridge. I recommend it to anyone competitive. It has a bit of a learning curve but then it's the best.

Yes. Catan is my favourite too. Starting locations play too heavy an influence for my liking, but otherwise it's flawless. Good length, good strategy, good negotiation, good amount of sheer chance.

Monopoly has a single dominant strategy, right? Buy everything. Trade anything to be the first player with a set, build hotels... then toss a coin... it's either an instawin and you can point and laugh at the other players, or an instalose and you can spend your life doing other things?
