I'm Gen-X. I predate these channels by decades.

Saturday meant a couple of hours watching Noel Edmonds and Keith Chegwin then unless it was pissing down with rain you left the house at pain of death until sunset. Kind of like a reverse vampire.

If you were lucky, a friend had a garage you could play in or a garden backing onto a school playing field. Assuming you were old enough to cross the road alone.

If not, you sat in the garden and learned to plant seeds and plants that at some point in the future you would probably eat.

Didn't know any different. Honestly I think my feral generation had it better than today's kids. There were VERY real consequences if we fucked up. I got broken bones but I learned what not to do!

We drank from the house, had sleepovers if one kid got rubella or chicken pox so we all had it. The end result is we're pretty indestructible 🤣🤣
