What do you remember about Saturday and Sunday morning cartoons?

So this morning I, go to my lady friends house. To make her brunch before I, go to work. And her daughter is watching cartoons. Nothing wrong with that. I still watch cartoons and anime. My lady friend got into a discussion about Saturday morning cartoons. And it was crazy that we both agreed that there 2 very overrated cartoons. That use to come on and we didn't understand how people like them. Those cartoons were, Scooby Doo and inspector gadget. In our opinion they sucked. Lol. But we would watch all the episodes before watch the garbage they pass as cartoons today.

And we both loved the short lived cartoons like, silver hawks and tiger sharks. We love g. i Joe and of course he-man. And she made remember this one called the teens of Beverly hills. Also Jem.

What do you remember about Saturday/Sunday morning cartoons?

All the Warner Brothers (Loony Tunes) and Hanna-Barbera cartoons were great. Actually, a lot of those, especially Hanna-Barbera cartoons, were prime time.
The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show was fucking great! Boris and Natasha, Fractured Fairytales, Aesop's Fables, Dudley Do-right. LMAO
Popeye was okay. Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle were a couple of 20th Century Fox Terrytoons cartoons that I remember from an early age.
I never cared for Woody Woodpecker.
I liked Tom Terrific on Captain Kangaroo when I was little.
There were many other cartoons that were rather unmemorable. I'd remember many of them if I heard the names. Hector Heathcoat, Crusader Rabbit, ...
A lot of kid programs with hosts like Captain Kangaroo, Sheriff John, Engineer Bill, Skipper Frank, Bozo the Clown, Romper Room, and Hobo Kelly, were shown on local TV networks (in the Los Angeles area). They showed cartoons that I'm sure were inexpensive to purchase the rights to broadcast.

I remember all of those!!! Those were the day's when cartoons was fun. And kids knew it was fake. Lol

They were a lot better than the cartoons they have now. In the 70's it was all morning on Saturday. They had Bugs Bunny and the Super friends and some were pretty lame too. But the animation was a lot better and there was more violence and the characters were way better.

I wasn't too crazy about weekend cartoons. It was better on weeknights when powerpuff girls and stuff came on. But ig i liked josie and the pussycats, animaniacs, yogi bear, scooby doo, popeye, pink panther, looney tunes, mary kate and ashley in action, proud family, kirby, Bratz, filmore, sabrina animated, and kim possible

It was just boring to me. Lol. I could never get into it. It was the same show all the time. Lol.

I only saw the first movie. And it reminded me of how much I hated the show. Lol. It was so bad that I, didn't even care to watch the second one. I made my nieces and nephews wait until it was on dvd to even let them see it. Lol

I saw it in theaters at age 7. Its the first film i recall seeing wih family. I thought it was amazeballs 😍 but the monsters scared me. My baby from Sugar Ray made a cameo tho! And i got to see my boo Freddie Prinze jr!! I loooove sarah michelle. So when they married, i was ecstatic! They were my beyonce and jayz before beyonce and jayz lol. The soundtrack however was eeeeverything! This was my fave song

Was a major fan of "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". use to love X-Men, Johnny Quest, Smurfs, I remember Punky Brewster was a cartoon. Tom and Jerry (old school) woody woodpecker, Bugs Bunny
