Obviously this song is capable of interpretation in quite a number of ways and invoking emotions around that.

First I will say you are quite right to be enthusiastic of French rap. I am still unsure and reserved on US rap being from the country that likes rap least in the western world. It is impressive how a French interpretation can make it so much better is another observation I need to make.

Listening, two pictures came to mind. one was the exodus from Paris in WW2 and the second of Hitler sight seeing the Eiffel tower. The song engenders sadness and despair of those times in a way that straight history cannot.

Of course my mind could not but drift from there to Ukraine and think not only of them but what might be if the Russian army was better than it is and there had been a cold war soviet like advance across Europe and a Neville Chamberlain like response.

I imagine that the intended point is more to do with current events and war refugees in general.

It is a very powerful song Julie and one that is capable of changing responses that one might have to far away events. I'd go so far as to say it is compulsory listening/viewing. Thank you for sharing.
