What are some of your favorite musicals?

Here are a couple of mine.

Those two are really good. I love Seventy Six Trombones.

My wife and I honeymooned in New England in the fall. One place we visited was the Trapp family home in Stowe, Vermont. We parked in the parking lot. There was a large lawn sloping up to the house. I said it would be perfect for doing the Julie Andrews thing.
And just like that, she took off running up the hill. When the reached the center of the lawn, she spun around with her arms spread wide, singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music" at the top of her lungs.
People watched with their mouths open. I almost died laughing.

I'm not a huge fan of musicals, but some are really enjoyable.

Of course The Wizard of Oz (1939) is a classic.

The King and I.

My Fair Lady.

Elvis movies.

Mama Mia.

Hard Day's Night. Help. Yellow Submarine. (The Beatles)

Phantom of the Paradise.

Rocky Horror Picture Show.

And one of my favorites, although it may not be everyone's cup of tea, is Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical. The music and lyrics are fantastic. It's definitely worth checking out.

I've never liked them. The cloesest thing to a musical I liked was, "Jesus Christ Superstar" which is more of a rock opera than a musical.

True. Like Hair or Godspell. It was the hippie era.

I would never waste my time with Godspell.
Wouldn't mind seeing, "Hair" but, it's not something I HAVE to see. If someone gave me tickets, I suppose I'd go.

Okay, Wizard Of Oz but, I don't think you can actually any of The Beatles films, musicals! Yellow submarine would be the closest to a musical. I mean, if you're gonna include those, add all of the Marx Brothers movies, too!! In fact, they'd be more along the lines of musicals than Help! or A Hard Days Night.

I don't know why, but I liked Xanadu. Probably because it had ONJ in it. I didn't think the music was too bad. But Grease was better. Favorites- My Fair Lady, Sound of Music.

My wife makes me watch the Sound of Music. I am sure there is a musical that I like but cannot think of one.
