What is a controversial opinion you have?

I tried to think of something, but anything I disagree with the majority on, I can explain logically why its not contraversial, and why people who disagree with it are just dumb/not thinking clearly.

There are a lot of situations for example, in the scientific vs religious community, where a religious person will say that scientists are"ignoring the contraversy" on x topic, when its been proven what is or isn't fact already regarding that topic, and the "contraversy" is just nonsense claims, so there is no actual contraversy with that topic, as a valid consensus has already been met within the boundries of sane discourse.

I feel like anything I have opinions on that contrast the majority, fall in line with that scenario.

Not sure how this question fits into the entertainment category.

I will give you my controversial opinions.

• The death penalty needs to be brought back.
• All welfare recipients should be drug tested.
• Mandatory sterilization for welfare recipients after your second kid.
• Doctors should be disbarred from practicing medicine if giving children puberty blockers.
• All religious organizations should no longer be tax-exempt.
• All current presidents must be mentally and physically fit to stay in office. If they are found to be incompetent then the vice president assumes the position.
• Student debt should not be wiped clean.
• Let's make mental institutions great again.

• Cheating in marriage should be punnished by death
• Prison shouldn't exist there should be working camps so they can benefit society and death row but fast directly after proof in court. Also the worst criminals (with PROOF) should be tested on for products.

It would be hard to prove someone cheated, and situations to frame them would result in abuse of that law, also the punishment needs to match the severity of (or repair the damage of) the crime, otherwise there is no point to it.

Labor camps for convicts are a really bad idea, as criminals are not people you would get good quality products from, the risk to consumers is too high.

There are a lot of cases where courts convict people as guilty, and then years later evidence surfaces that proves they were innocent.
Your ideas are not contraversial, just poorly thought out.

Just because something can be hard to proove doesn't mean we should remove the court system in my opinion.

Also I rather have them do shitty jobs and ad to society than just cost

I never said to remove the court system, I said the court system often gets presented with evidence that proves a convicted person was actually innocent. If you removed the court system, theyed rot in jail forever or be killed. See this is what I mean about your ideas not being thought out.

This isn't something you get to disagree with, this is fact, this is a thing that happens, people do and have been cleared, released, compensated for time in jail, and their record expunged, often decades after getting convicted.

It is also a fact that criminals who are actually guilty can't be trusted to do any job properly.

If it were possible to avoid missing any evidence during conviction, those situations I mentioned would never happen.

You are requesting the impossible, mistakes and misdeeds when convicting are going to happen, so we have to account for them by not snap judging with punishments that we can't undo.

And thats ignoring corrupt judges and lawyers, which is a whole other can of worms that I don't have time to talk about.

You misunderstand.

I'm not making a mistake, I'm pointing out a discrepancy between a judge's or lawyer's opinion, and actual verification process in science.

The fact that non evidence or limited evidence is used in court rooms as "evidence" of guilt, is why these mistakes happen. People are not going to ever be able to avoid these kinds of mistakes without delaying sentences, and you want to expedite them.

In the scientific field, there isn't a difference, they are synonymous. Convictions require scientific approaches to be accurate, and all you are doing right now is trying to distract from your poorly thought out ideas by pointlessly arguing over terminology.

Your point is that you want to speed up punishments in cases where you are certain the person is guilty.

My counter point is that, because thats impossible to achieve, that is why people get exonerated decades later, which is why getting rid of prisons and expediting punishments is a bad idea.

Your terminology debate only reinforces that, by pointing out from another angle how the legal system treats the unverifiable as evidence to a claim, which causes those sentencing mistakes in the first place. So you are just backing up my point when trying to oppose it.
