A moment that is so funny/interesting/exceptional that you add "you had to be there" after you complete narrating it. Tell me all about it!

One night back in '95 my two buddies and I were on a midnight walk, tripping on some stuff that might've been laced. Just kinda looking around and enjoying a cool southern night's breeze. Eventually we took a break at the neighborhood park. While sitting on a bench bullshiting, we saw a plastic bag floating in the wind and got lost in it's floating dance for what seemed like forever (about 2 mins) and went back to talking shit.

At any rate we lost track of the bag. My buddy Mark was to my left and Steve was in front of us rambling about life, when all of the sudden the plastic bag "attacked" the back of Mark's leg. Mark shot up from his seat and ran off as fast as he could. (Like Forrest Gump fast) Steve quickly followed suit. It took me until they were completely outta sight to utter something like "It's just a bag!" before going to look for them.

I caught up to them as they approached the edge of this apartment complex. I heard them running my way when I decided to scare them. I was around the corner of the building where they couldn't see me. I jumped out yelled "BOO!" causing Mark to "slide into home plate" to stop himself and Steve not being as agile ended up plowing over Mark, flipped and landed on his back! While I was caught in a laughing fit from the comedy of it all. But that's not the funniest part.

After they yelled at me for the scare, they had the Brilliant idea to hunt down the plastic bag and "Beat the shit out of it" for It's assault of Mark's leg. Not wanting to miss it, I "agreed" to help. The bag was caught up in a swirling pocket of wind when Steve and Mark found it. They began to punch it as best they could but failed to account for their distance from each other. Mark ended up punching Steve in the face and Steve slid backwards kicking Mark's feet out from under him causing him to land on his face.

As they both lay there on the ground recovering... The Bag floated away in Victory! All the while leaving me to hyperventilate from laughter.

In my late teens, some friends and went for a camp out in a beautiful canyon. We hiked a few miles in and set up camp. Some of us dropped LSD.

At dusk, I walked along a path next to the creek. In front of me, I saw the sun speckled, leaf covered path undulating. At first I thought it was the acid playing tricks on me. But when I got closer, I saw hundreds and hundreds of orange newts moving from the creek, crossing the path, and up the opposite bank into the dry leaves. They were packed together as far down the path as I could see.

A few years later, two friends and I backpacked to a place called Thousand Island Lake near Yosemite. From there, we were going over Donohue Pass and into Tualumne Meadows in Yosemite.

We were camped above the lake at night on the rocky bowl shaped slopes with the lake below. We had tequila, peyote and weed.

All of a sudden, everything lit up with a very bright, pure white light. In the split second before I looked up, I thought the spot light from a helicopter was shining on us. When we looked up we saw a huge meteor with a tail that stretched for miles passing from left to right over the lake. It was so low that, once it passed, we expected to see a bright flash or explosion from it impacting the ground.

Several seconds later, we heard a rumbling, buffeting sound like a freight train that was the sound of the meteor passing through the atmosphere.

Was about 19ish old - finished a shift as a bartender, while closing I had my fair share of drinks and then continued. Mistake was that I drank - then began sniffing, so I kinda blacked out during that evening.

When I came around - I was in the backseat of a car driving though Germany and on my way to Holland. I had packed dog biscuits, 2 bottles of Vodka (I don't drink vodka), red wine and a pair of underwear.

- Not an experience I've had again nor do I want it. Was an amazing trip tho.

Many moons ago through my employer I volunteered at a camp for kids that lost a family member or both parents & it was a one day camp to help them greave & just have someone there to listen to. Long story short leading up to the came all the volunteers had to sit through various meetings & PowerPoint presentations with a program director. There were over 30 volunteers & the room was quiet & all the tables were lined up in a u shape with the director talking in the middle. There was an old guy sitting on the other side of the room & all of a sudden he lets one rip. I lost it & couldn’t help but start laughing & the words out of my mouth were OH SHIT. I kicked my boss under the table, she started crying, covering her face & trying not to laugh. My other colleagues couldn’t help themselves as well. The fart was loud too!

I had a party at my house for my birthday about 15 years ago. My friend and I were drunk and roughhousing, we both fell over on the table and he landed on top of me. My dad (who was about 60 at the time) walked in the front door right when that happened and thought we were fighting for real. He reached down and put my friend in a choke hold, picked him up by the neck off me, and fell backwards with him in the choke hold while yelling at him "get off my son, I'll fucking kill you!" There's was about 20 people in the living room. We all started laughing so hard, and I told my dad we were just horsing around. He started laughing too, but my friend who got choked by my dad didn't think it was so funny hahaha

The first thing I thought of was the Roots concert at the end of a 3 day festival. It was a beautiful day and everyone was just vibing and the band was having fun and we were loving it and it was one of the best concerts I've ever experienced. I saw them 2 more times and they're always good live but this was just a special moment indescribable and incomparable :)

Me and my girlfriend once went to the rich designer brands shopping section of a high-end Casino dressed in extremely shabby, filthy, broken clothes to see if the shopkeepers would sell anything to us… we ended up being chased out by security and it was sooo funny! no one ever understands it though so it’s definitely a “you had to be there” moment.

The United Center 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals. Tickets cost me a pretty penny. But I got to see the Bulls win thier 5th and 6th championship. I try to explain it to people but no explanation does it justice.
