What’s the song that you used to listen when you were at your happiest?

For me it’s  At Last - Etta James  I remember my 23rd birthday, cold November day which turned out to be the most romantic birthday I’ve had.  There was a whole place booked just for the two of us.  He brought in presents and flowers and they never ended, there were red roses and candles everywhere and he took me for dancing even though he hated it and asked me to choose a song, I chose “At last - Etta James” and when we listened to it and danced, felt that it was the period in my life when I too, at last had everything I had dreamed of. I was happy, probably have never been happier in my life.  Today I heard it while scrolling and it reminded me of that day.  Do you have a special song like that?

I won't say that these two songs are something that I listen to when I am happiest, but these two songs help make me happy taking away the sting of life a bit.

"Lonely People" by America.

The singer / songwriter of this song is Dan Peek. He died in 2011 and lived about an hour away from where we live now. So, sometimes we visit his grave. I don't want him to be lonely and to know what a positive impact he's had on my life and others.

However, I listen to this more... It's an anthem practically made to make you happy by making you feel connected with everyone else.

Then again, I also love "Avatar" from Dead Can Dance's 2nd album, "Spleen and Ideal" from 1985. No lyrics but the singing is amazing.

If you start at the 3:00 timestamp, you will hear the singer, Lisa Gerrard, do an amazing extended note. The word "avatar" comes Sanskrit and means the incarnation of a (Hindu) deity... basically, "God in human form". This song can definitely impact your belief in a deity. Especially the last 3rd of this song - it is like ascending into Heaven.

Wow now that sounds like my kind of birthday I would give to my significant other. I love slow dancing.

In my mind I live on memory lane with houses like chapter's to my past. Music is the driveway that always takes me to those special moments. But smells always takes me to the doorstep.

A Thousand Years by Christinia Perri - This song always reminds me of my first girlfriend back in high school. I can still remember us making out in the woods, walking hand-in-hand everywhere we went, going to prom and homecoming dances.

Counting Stars by ONE Republic - Always takes me back to the time I got my first hotel room with my then-college-girlfriend. I got us a room overlooking the at the oceanfront boardwalk. That song played over sone restraunt speakers as we walked down by the beach. It was my first adult adventure with a significant other and contrary to what my parents believe I did not lose my vCard that day 😄.

You & Me by Lifehouse - the song my wife and I danced to at our wedding. I can still remember my heart thumping out of my chest from being so nervous but I kept my eyes on her the whole time. Later she asked me "why did you keep starring at me?" I said to her "you looked like an angel and I was afraid you would disappear."
