Tiktok’s algorithm works based on how long someone watches your video combined with how well someone interacts with your video. I’ve gone viral-ish twice. One was a cat video of something less than 10 seconds long, the other was a repost of a funny cartoon I liked as part of an ongoing trend. The shorter your videos, the more likely they are to be watched all the way and the more views they get but if people don’t interact with them, like leaving a comment or liking it, then you likely won’t get farther than a few thousand views at most.
