Is Pumbaa actually the one with the brains instead of Timon?

Even though I'm in my mid-late 20's once in a while I watched one of my childhood cartoon show, Timon and Pumbaa.

Is Pumbaa actually the one with the brains instead of Timon?

In many episodes and even in The Lion King, Timon takes all the credit and always claims he's the one with the brains. It was really Pumbaa that one that said Simba would be on their side if they keep and raise him. Then Timon says the same thing as Pumbaa stated. Secondly, Pumbaa's explanation of the stars as ''burning balls of gas burning billions of miles away'' is indeed the correct one. It's not ''they're fireflies stuck on the big, bluish dark thing'' Timon keeps say. Lastly, on other episodes where Pumbaa actually reads books and studies, he can explain in elaborated terms.

On another episode where Timon turns into a bug (due to a curse), he enters Pumbaa's body. His brain is only small because the light switch is turned off. Once it's turned on, it grows and he's actually smarter than you think.
