Do you make a ton of money with a YouTube channel?

I've heard they pay like $18 per thousand views, is that true? Or is it hard to get people to watch your videos unless you have a hot girl in them?

So why do so many people practically document every second of their life with a youtube video if you don't make hardly and money? All these couples that make youtbe videos and such. Is it just an attention seeking type thing?

It has nothing to do with adding women.

Take these channels, both gaming channels and ran by dudes.

Both have millions of subscribers, with CoryxKenshin's videos practically getting millions of views each time.

Both groups also sell merchandise, do charities, and also do promotions. Everybody lives comfortably, for example like CoryxKenshin can go months without making a video and don't have to worry about going broke. I do follow some females, but none of them have millions of subscribers except for Stephanie Pappas who has near two million subscribers.

Examples:

In the case of Kristie, there's one channel she does with her boyfriend, while her boyfriend has millions of subscribers on his channel. BWG has a Twitch, but I don't know what her subscriber count on that channel is at all as I don't have or use Twitch.

You just have to be consistent, know what people might be interested in, comfortable in front of a camera, good equipment, and awesome editing skills. YouTubers like Neebs Gaming and Brennan Taylor also do music as well. They're not like Taylor Swift level famous, but their music is rather good.

I know a guy that has had millions of views and has 90,000 subscribers and still doesn't make much at all.

Can you? Yes. Is it likely going to happen? No. Hamza makes $15k per month for his weight lifting and scaming teenage boys on telling them how to get a girlfriend.

Most people i know with an education and degree can make that much or more than that. And on top of that you need to have a magnetic personality or be really good at something to make money.

Everyone wants to sit in front of a camera and make videos, so over saturated with people. So you're going to compete with everyone else.

Don't listen to the self-gurus that tell you you can do anything. Just get a degree and make the money.

In my experience, I've made more from patreon & using youtube to advertise other items for people to buy. Even getting sponsorships would make me more money, but I don't take them.

You got to be really lucky and have a ton of followers. Some creators supliment their earning with sponsorships and merchandise as well.

Not at all. You need a decent amount of subscribers to make even a small amount of money.
