Which celebrities biography inspires you the most?

I prefer autobiographies more than biographies and I’m not sure I’ve ever read an biography for that reason other than maybe a book on Salvador Dali cause art is easier to analyze than historical lives. If you do not know, an autobiography is a biography about the person written by the person themselves while a biography is a book about someone’s life that is written by somebody other than the person the book is about.

My favourite autobiography is the one by Gandhi because he seems deeply integrated into both elite and rural culture and he cherishes both platitudes. I also like a book written by a Saudi Arabian body guard who protected royal figures because I could relate to the samurai habit of expecting high quality service towards ungrateful and unsupportive recipients that do not merit elite work from you. And I like a fictional autobiography called Prep where a woman writes about her struggles to socially fit in as a private school teenager who won a seat at a rich kids school based on a merit based scholarship she got.

I’ll name a few celebs and then biopics in general. I got sooo tired of watching The Temptations as a kid but that was a good movie. I also enjoyed Soul Surfer (about Bethany), Surviving Compton (about Michele), Lone Survivor (military), Unbroken (military), Elizabeth Smart Story (2003 movie), The Impossible (2004 Tsunami in Thailand), Balto (the sled dog), Prince of Egypt (Moses), Bojangles (Bill Robinson), Captain Phillips (2009 Alabama Containership/Somali Pirates), Flight (influenced by a true story), In the Heart of the Sea (what inspired Moby Dick), Genius: Aretha Franklin (tv movie) and The Fabelmans (about Stephen Spielberg)

When it comes to celebrities, Jimi Hendrix inspires me the most. I've read three biographical books about him:

Probably Arnold's. How he just attacked all of his dreams and life goals and went after them with passion and hard work. Never giving up or getting discouraged.

I've read many... love the autobiographies of musicians and comedians... Trevor Noah's was excellent. So was Bruce Springsteen's. Also highly recommend Keith Richard's, Pete Townsend's, and Martin Short's. Michelle Obama's was also terrific. As was the Steve Jobs biography, though now we're stepping out of the self-written realm.
