How did Matthew Perry drown in a hottub?

He was probably either drunk or high, or OD'd on something that caused him to pass out in the tub and drown. My understanding is that he was depressed.

There's a pretty concerted effort in the US to look the other way on the subjects of mental health, substance abuse, and drugs, so I wouldn't be surprised that if this is the case, it will either never be released or done so quietly.

He's been on drugs and medications for decades. he was obese and needed to take different course in life. A lot of men need to make some changes... may it be a wakeup call. who knows?

and why was he in a hot tub? Hot tubs are kinda dangerous... if sit in them too long, can pass out due to heat, heart issues? There's warnings in every hot tub I've seen about max of X minutes.

all said, it's a better way to go than some other ways...

It was most likely that there was some medication involved to make it easier to sleep and the hot tub was bad timing, if it wasn’t done on purpose.

It's possible he had a heart issue from all of the years of drug addiction and should not have been in a hot tub in the first place, or he could have had an existing heart ailment that he wasn't aware of and had the gripper in the tub.
We will have to wait for the autopsy and what information they can release due to HIPPA.

I don't think we'll ever know the answer to that, but I find his death at a relatively young age to be very sad. I can speculate that he may have had a heart attack, lost consciousness and drowned. He might also have been using drugs and become unconscious and also drowned. As I said I'm not sure we are ever going to know. My sympathies go out to his family and loved ones who I'm sure are grieving over his death at this time. I I send my blessings.

The report I read is that it was cardiac arrest. It said no drugs or anything were found, so he might’ve just had a heart attack while he was in his hot tub.

We likely all naturally assumed because of his past that he was drunk or high, however, I’m thinking it might’ve been a stroke. The fact they don’t even know yet because of the toxicology report being unfinished it’s hard to say. He might’ve pulled a Heath Ledger and mixed up too many meds.
