I do. However, I'm very fussy about it, and think that most science-fiction just isn't very good. In my view it has to be convincing, it has to be a story that I can actually believe in. For example, the movie 'Gravity' with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney was good, because it was based upon reality, and the reality is that the amount of space junk up there in low earth orbit is really getting out of hand and we need to do something about it before a piece of it sets off a cascade of colliding junk that knocks out all our satellites.

To TV shows like one I recently watched called Bodies, to Black Mirror, The 100, Dark, Altered Carbon, His Dark Materials… I could go on. There’s endless ideas and possibilities when it comes to science fiction. It’s just a really fun genre.

2.7K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Of course. It has helped significantly form who I am because of "Star Trek" in the 1960s and 1970s and a few other important science fiction movies such as "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Planet of the Apes" and sequels, and "Colossus: The Forbin Project", and "Silent Running".

6.5K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Yes, I watched all the cheesy SciFi movies from the old days. I wish the SciFi channel would have real sci Fi again instead of slasher movies. I am a big Star Trek fan.

+1 yYes I like science-fiction. That and fantasy are my favourite genres because I love how the author or the director builds up an entire world with its own rules and stories. But science-fiction is such a difficult genre to write in because the story can easily have inconsistencies and go against its own logic and in that case I lose interest in the story

+1 ySure. I have the kind I like and others that isn't my style.
I love the original Star Wars, Mars Attacks, The Martian, Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy, Passengers, Avatar, Alien, Aliens, The 100, Manifest, Tomorrowland. The Matrix.
If it is written well, science fiction rocks.
10 Reply 2.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Yes very much. I really like post apocalyptic sci-fi., cyberpunk.
I like Star Trek as a kid. But I just can't swallow Gene Roddenberry's hippie vision anymore. I still like star trek. But man will NEVER evolve past the motivation of greed. We are capable of amazing accomplishments. But in many ways we've never left the caves.

+1 yI liked science fiction movies when I was younger but now I mainly watch action and an occasional Romantic comedy. I prefer fantasy fiction over science fiction such as stories about ancient Egypt or stories about mythological creatures.

+1 yLike as in movies or shows? Love it. Huge Star Wars and Star Trek fan. When I was younger I used to wish for an escape pod full of clone troopers to crash into my backyard. Of course, it never happened but that was my wish.

20 Reply358 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. There is some good stuff but some have a lot of futuristic devices and I don't like that. Just one premise of time travel etc etc and no more.
