I recently saw this film (forget its name) about a group of fishermen from the American East Coast getting caught in a terrible storm, and drowning. Boat sank.
It came out in the early 2000s, and I recognise several of the actors.

About your movie, i guess that i have watched a couple of movies like that do i don't know which one it might be...
I havw watched movies which are made since the 1960's till the present day, so there's a big list in my mind 😄
"Lone Survivor".. I guess it helped that the first half of the movie from what I remember was almost all action..
“Non-fiction film” are you talking about documentaries or fictionalized “based on a true story” movies like that cocaine bear shit?

Are you talking about "The Perfect Storm" ?
Maybe, I think that's the one
I enjoyed Ford v Ferrari and 1917, although they they aren't entirely non-fiction.
Wasn't 1917 in WWI?
I don't recall the name of it. It's the story of a WWII bomber crew that ditches in the Pacific Ocean, and how some of them survive for weeks in a raft, drifting in the middle of the ocean

This is a crazy story. Maybe not the most intense, but it's way up there.
the act of seeing with one’s own eyes. check it out!
oh wait that doesn’t fit the category. well it is still pretty intense!
Sounds like "Perfect Storm"
For me the most intense is "Schindler's List"
