+1 yWilliam Golding's Lord of the Flies (it's literally sitting right beside me 💀)
I've always loved the desert island plotline. It's a trope that pushes characters to their breaking points through securing survival. Where the strong succeed, the weak snap. Bonds can be forged while others may tear to shreds beneath the weight of their life-or-death situation.
This little tale about a privileged group of boys becoming savage is everything I could've asked for. Just fantastic storytelling42 Reply- +1 y
I was one of the lucky people who didn't get it or To Kill a Mockingbird spoiled for me in class. I couldn't tell you the racial, psychological or societal issues at play in either novels.
In fact, we- for some reason- got The Maze Runner and The Outsiders to read. Fun novels, fun stories, which kept copies of because of course I did lmao

@exitseven The last three are great, but the time between them is counted in thousands of years.

She had a short story in Legends 2 that I read that was pretty good, she kind of reminded me of Melanie Rawn (but I’d avoid her, she never completed her one series) and I’ve read Dune once. You probably have the books memorized by now lol. Do you read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy is general

605 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. There are three total such books:
Sunshine by Robin McKinnley (i may have spelled that wrong).
The Curse of Challion by Lois McMaster Bujold
The Scholomance Trilogy by Naomi Novik
what these all have in common, I think, is that there isn't really any "filler." They said exactly the things that held my interest and provided enough depth and detail that I still had more nuance to discover after reading it again.
