Truthfully I don't really know or pay attention to celebrities. The only ones I know out of those are Matthew Perry and Jerry Springer and honestly I only learned Matthew Perry's name when he died. I liked F. R. I. E. N. D. S. and I think that he made the show for me but wasn't really a groupie either.

But their lives didn't really affect me because I didn't know them. I don't understand why so many people get really affected by celebrities lives. Like when Paul Walker died... I was like... it's just a guy. Why are people going nuts?

The only ones I would care about are my family and loved ones. And I'm pretty sure, deep down most people would agree.

I had a wave of emotions reading your list. I'm particularly sad about Sinead. She was an amazing person in so many regards. I remember her for the fearless way she fought for what she believed and of course, her immense talent. She wasn't a conventional role model, but the world would be a better place if we took a few lessons from her life.

I think all losses are sad and to say some are sadder than the others is hurtful for the family members and the friends of the deceased.

Maybe some were not that well-known, doesn’t mean losing them was any less significant.

I also lost three people in the last year that I had known for 45, 62 and 67 years. One was expected because he was 97. The other two took me by surprise since they were only in their 50s.

The Gazans should have known Hamas was going to do this. After all, they haven't done anything themselves to stop Hamas since 2007.

Israel is doing what it feels is necessary; their patience has been exhausted. Once Hamas is eradicated (*), no one else will die in Gaza.

(*) Hamas could simply surrender and disband thus preventing any more Gazan deaths.

Since you are very young and don't remember this, let's use the Wabac Machine and go to 26 DEC 2004. On that date, a magnitude 9 earthquake occurred in the Indian Ocean just off the western end of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Over 200,000 people died, all in one day.
That's 10 times the number dead in Gaza in 2.5 months.

My point is losses are relative.

Do I feel bad for the Gazans? To a degree. Certainly for kids who are hurt or killed. But that's war and that's a fact of life. The Gazans need to take personal responsibility (*) for allowing Hamas to remain in power there and starting this war. Sadly, the price they have been paying is the 22000 dead with the destruction of much of their country.

(*) They can't exactly be innocent when Hamas is creating tunnels under hospitals to hide weapons and such. The Gazans couldn't have been oblivious to this.

In short, what happened to the Gazans - all 20k+ deaths so far is their responsibility. They committed "suicide by Israel".

Remind yourself of that if you get breast cancer and have to get a double mastectomy; the breast surgeon isn't "ethnically cleansing" your boobs, but getting rid of your cancer which is trying to kill you and will if you don't take action.
