What's a song that your parents used to play that you still listen to?

I remember us being on our way to Las Vegas. I was sitting in the back of my dad's Buick Grand National with the windows down... and the wind was blowing my hair all over the place. This song was playing, and I still listen today.

My mum's into 90s rock and my dad's a metal head. The songs that have clung on include everything Guns n Roses and Offspring, as well as the rare track I can tolerate from my dad's side.

Probably my favourite is Spare Me The Details by Offspring. The man explains how he's been cheated on by his girlfriend and the utter anger, shame and regret that comes with it. Especially from his 'helpful' friends constantly telling him the details about it. The irritation you can hear in the lead's voice is so addictive.

Love that song... and my mom would play Christian music on Sundays after she left church. And sometimes during the week in the evenings. But they played the oldies the most.

Actually back when I was a teenager, my dad was already in his 60s. One day I went to ask him something, I knocked on his bedroom door, got no answer, but it was ajar and I could see his feet on the bed so I went in. He’s laying there with his eyes closed and listening to a WalkMan (old school😝), and I can just make out some of the music, and it’s just this thumping “oonce-oonce-oonce-oonce-oonce…” Turns out he’s into early 90s Eurodance, lmfao, just out of left field😂
