I remember us being on our way to Las Vegas. I was sitting in the back of my dad's Buick Grand National with the windows down... and the wind was blowing my hair all over the place. This song was playing, and I still listen today.
1 yMy mum's into 90s rock and my dad's a metal head. The songs that have clung on include everything Guns n Roses and Offspring, as well as the rare track I can tolerate from my dad's side.
Probably my favourite is Spare Me The Details by Offspring. The man explains how he's been cheated on by his girlfriend and the utter anger, shame and regret that comes with it. Especially from his 'helpful' friends constantly telling him the details about it. The irritation you can hear in the lead's voice is so addictive.
And I feel so dumb
That I could ever trust her
That someone else fucked her
Then just walked away
And I don't really wanna know
So don't tell me anymore
Plus the song that can get everyone in my family bopping their heads, Wrong Side of Heaven by Five Finger Death Punch.21 Reply

1 yMy dad had what I consider great taste in music and turned me on to so many good artists. One that is now less famous and that most people do not know or remember but whom I listen to frequently is this one:

1 yDamn I didn't know that that was a Beatles song.. All this time. Lmao..
My mother almost exclusively played Christian songs when I was growing up.. Lmao..
But I always used to hear her sing the chorus to this song.

Hahahaha of course.. That makes sense.. My mother didn't play Kirk Franklin, or Fred Hammond.. She played contemporary rock songs.. ππ.. Which was in contrast to my sister who used to babysit us and drag us everywhere she went, she played the early 00s Jams..
Well, I just never bothered to listen to their music.. I mean I don't listen to a lot of music to begin with.. - 1 y
Yeah, back then I thought it was kinda lame, but looking back at it, I like a lot of the songs she played.
I have broad taste in music.. From some classical music and movie/show/anime original soundtracks to Metallica and Chief Keef.. Lmao.. - 1 y

Actually back when I was a teenager, my dad was already in his 60s. One day I went to ask him something, I knocked on his bedroom door, got no answer, but it was ajar and I could see his feet on the bed so I went in. Heβs laying there with his eyes closed and listening to a WalkMan (old schoolπ), and I can just make out some of the music, and itβs just this thumping βoonce-oonce-oonce-oonce-oonceβ¦β Turns out heβs into early 90s Eurodance, lmfao, just out of left fieldπ

Walkmans were cool as long as you had extra batteries and pencil to fix the tape if it got pulled out, haha
