Probably should give strong honorable mentions to Lauryn Hill and Hayley Williams of Paramore. Many, many other singers I tremendously respect, female vocals are so damn beautiful, but I leave them off the list just to stay true to my “favorites” who I’d say I actively listen to their music.

@smahala1991 the name Sabrina carpenter sounds familiar but I’m not fond of the name and it sounds like she’d do country. (Not fond of country music). Always met mean and self entitled Sabrina’s. That’s another reason.

Olivia Rodrigo got a couple songs that got me through hard times. My jealousy of her fame around my age and her likableness yet possible shallowness, is what kept me from listening to her other songs, at a time. That changed and I wanted to be a supporter and try her other songs, but hearing one in a store and it sounded too general or mainstream. Like too “Tik tok “ ish or 14 year old “cool kids,” from high school, who just chew gum and make out in the back of some old sports car. Stereotypical/ judgmental I know, but I couldn’t even, when I wanted to.

I still like her two songs that got me through that tough time, and I admired her voice. Happy she “made it” and made something for herself. She has a good voice… her content just doesn’t resonate with me.

I like the ones I mentioned for voice style, content, name, appearance, and personality. They’re genuine from my perspective. They’re also highly unique in their own ways. Despite any inspiration they may have gathered prior to their career launches, and may or may not have incorporated into their wardrobes, music, styles, or socialization with the public.
