i just watch the cartoon. i haven't seen it in awhile, but i loved it! i don't think i've figured out the metaphors inside it, but i have only seen tv versions. could i borrow a first edition?

Not if he wants to read it, no. I mean, it's public domain now, so Gutenberg's got you covered (Librivox, too, I think), but sometimes you want a hard copy. Nothing wrong with that.
