Why haven't we had a popstar and a vocalist who changed the game like those in the past?

Like, no offense, but since the end of the last decade to now, what is up with the pop stars and vocalists of today? We had MJ, Madonna, Prince Whitney, Celine, Mariah, Britney, et cetera.
Yeah, we have Adele, Swift, and Grande, but the impact and influence are not as apparent as with those artists in the past. Whats wrong!

You are out of touch with the music industry, grandpa. Are you looking at any of the numbers? The names you list don't come close to today's stars. Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Timberlake, Demi Lovato. These people have worldwide reach in the billions. Each one has been a game changer in their own right.

Even an outlier like Doja Cat beats the old names in record sales (now called downloads), airplay (now called streams), concert attendance, media coverage, merch, every quantifiable they blow the past out of the water.

By all the stats, Taylor Swift is the #1 performer of all time. One year of her recording and touring outpaces Frank Sinatra's entire career.

You can't confuse what you like or don't like with what is actually happening in the industry.

Taylor, Ariana, etc have great impact but what they lack is a uniqueness about them. Taylor doesn't standout in looks like Mariah, Beyonce and Whitney. Taylor can sing but can't dance like Beyonce and Shakira. Ariana can sing but she lacks a genuineness and innocence about her like Mariah, Madonna and Janet had before their looks were turned more for sex appeal. Todays stars have the fans but i think all their fans belong to the one genre the person belongs too. Whitney had people who prefer other genres still tuning in to her r&b/pop/gospel hits. Shania had country haters still checking her out. Who didn't like Celine? The people back then just had the “it” factor. Todays people are successful mainly because of their popularity on social media and lastly because of their looks/talent

That's probably because there aren't a lot of popstar vocalist and nowadays mainstream music is either too safe, or has little substance.. It was always about the look, but not so much the talent anymore..

The problem is that the op stars you listed didn’t have anyone to compete against. There are plenty of pop stars that are famous today because of the pop stars from the past
