I don't believe so. I am an avid music listener and when I hear songs from this day and time they mostly sound the same from each band.
The other reason that makes a big difference is in the 40's all the way through the 80's when we listened to the radio station playing the songs, they always said the name of the song and the artist or band. They don't do that anymore.
Only the few who have made very big names for themselves, but even then, they canāt compare to the pop stars of the past.
Respected by who? This generation that loves modern music does not feel respect, in 20 yearss whoever they love now tupac or whoever will be forgotten. But elvis was talent! Billy joel bruce springstein and more. Maybe mike jackson will remembered as diversity pick?
Probably not since a lot of today's pop stars are less talent and more image and headline focused.. Pop stars of the past were legit talented and "lucky individuals who worked hard and got screwed by company labels often..
Thanks for MHO Oliver!
Pop stars from each era bring unique talents and cultural influences, making it challenging to compare respect and idolization across decades. Today's pop stars are subject to real-time public scrutiny due to social media, influencing their legacies differently. While the timeless appeal of past legends remains influential, contemporary stars can achieve similar admiration with evolving platforms and global reach. Ultimately, their impact will shape future perceptions and their lasting legacy. 🎤āØ

I'm showing my age and my age bias but no. Music in general doesn't seem to play the same role in people's live that it did in the heyday of rock, pop, and soul. I think the internet killed it. The web coincided with the death of MTV and VH1. Record labels lost control of content and while good for artists financially, it became a LOT harder to become a superstar.
I honestly donāt think so⦠maybe the actors, but not the singers I canāt picture it
I agree, itās like thereās not anyone who has that signature look or uniqueness that youāll look and see could be a icon one day in the next 40 years like Michael, Stevie wonder, Prince, and Whitney Houston are
It seems today it is more based on scanty outfits, special effects, dancing, everything but talent and well written songs.
no today's music isn't eg rap isn't music at all no hits no memories
No, the world has changed and so has music and in both cases not for the better.
Brilliant presentation, again! Superb!,š¤“š
Taylor Swift comes to mind. But honestly I don't think today's artists is as artistic.
Yeah, some will, but most wonāt. Like every generation
I don't think so, present-day music mostly isn't that good as it was in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Sure, I donāt see why not.
Each generation has it's own stars!
