One of the ultimate ones is Mad Max: Fury Road.

I actually started to get incredibly bored watching it in the theater. I have rewatched it since then at home and enjoyed it more on subsequent views, but it's still nowhere close to my favorite despite loving Road Warrior.

That surprised me since so many people love it and I always considered myself an action buff. Watching the movie made me reconsider; maybe I'm a suspense buff. When we have the longest periods of non-stop action with so much visual spectacle, I start to lose this sense of tension and suspense. Scenes no longer start to feel so climactic if we've been watching non-stop spectacular action for the past 15+ mins.

So I think the formula for even action films that appeal to me is more like, suspense, suspense, suspense, suspense, suspense, ACTION, repeat! Not, action, action, action, action, action, suspense, repeat.

I don't really dislike or hate them... I am just not part of any of that and rather focus on other things instead

One thing I don’t do is dumb Hollywood movie franchises, particularly action movies. I feel like my IQ isn’t low enough to appreciate “things going boom”, lmfao. “oH mY gOd, a FiErY eXpLoSiOn, HoW EnTeRtAiNiNg!!!🤪” “tHiS ViN DiEsEL gUy iS jUsT TREMENDOUS!”🤦‍♂️😂

I want CLEVERLY-WRITTEN comedy, or you just can’t be asking me to sit in one place for 90 minutes, that’s another thing I don’t really do, haha. I don’t really like “watching” things, that’s just not engaging enough to keep my attention consistently, so movies are a big ask of me. Really has to be worth my while.

Most of these big franchises I won’t even bother with: Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars, Marvel movies, The Fast And The Furious…. now you’re asking to watch like 3-8 movies. Absolutely fucking NOT. I’m a person who doesn’t really need a couch in their home, you know? Hahaha

Game of Thrones.. I never watched it fully, but from what I've seen didn't really graze my interest.. Plus, I was never super into the whole medieval setting except for this Series called "Berserk"..
