Maybe Snoopy in that list but I love Gin from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (very popular cartoon for kids when I was a boy)! He's my absolute favorite as the bravest of all dogs despite being the smallest.

back in the 60s, before Peanuts blew up to be the iconic cartoon it is today, a priest simply sent a letter to Charles Schultz asking if The Flyers could use the Snoopy flying ace as their mascot, and Schultz wrote back giving his blessing. They still have the letter
