If you could live in any era throughout history, which one would you choose and why?

It would depend on what my place in society was. I think the world around 79AD in Pompeii or Herculaneum would be fascinating - pre Vesuvius erupting, obviously.

I think although it was more dangerous then that it was in many ways simpler to be a Christian at that time than it is now. There's something about active persecution that really tempers Faith. In a time when declaring Christ led to your being fed to animals or used as street lights as you're burned alive it truly identifies the true beliefs.

This one? maybe 10 years back 2014 was good.
But anything else outside such a range is bad. Society only gets progressively worse as you go back, want to join Ww2? Nah I am gud. Want to live in Cold war seems like a headache and boring. Want to live before Video games became actually good graphics? Nah.
Want to live when a simple cold could kill you? Nah lol.

The `60's! The best music, movies, t. v. shows and people!! No cell phones or video games and people actually gave a shit about each other and were more than willing to help. Kids actually went outside every day and played in the streets. Neighbors came over just to hang out or talk. Other than the war and the crooked politicians, it was just a much better time.

Ancient Athens during the second half of the 5th century BC, so that I can meet Socrates and have a philosophical conversation with him about the nature of truth. I would also want to travel back to Ancient Egypt and see how the pyramids were built. Because that baffles me.

I'd choose the 1840s, tons of land open for settlement, no noisy buildings and overpopulation, so I can do as I please out there and hunt whatever time I want.

No federal government bothering me every 10 seconds, and if someone attacks me, I can kill them, bury them, and nobody will ever ask a single question, so no legal battles in that regard, and nature will be beautiful and plentiful
