Only for the rich and wealthy and those of lineage, u think the gladiators forced to fight had orgies or the slaves, how would you garuntee any social status for yourself in that time period.
Way to be a buzz kill lolThere was one really easy track to Roman wealth and success. Join the Military. Soldiers were often paid in land deeds and slaves. (I know I personally would definitely not buy slaves) . Although Roman Slavery was a lot different from American style slavery like we know today. Slaves in Rome had some rights and could often times buy out or work out their slavery like a debt and could be freed after they were done. It was still slavery tho so that's a bummer. But provided I survive and don't die in battle, I'll end up being paid in Land which can be resold, or start a farm, a business, it gives me a write to vote, which means I could technically get into politics. The options are pretty endless. In reality though I'd say anything past 1969 would probably unhealthy to ever time travel to or anytime travel because we are littered with Covid 19 could you imagine if we took that disease back to say 23AD. We would start an instant plague and alter of recorded history. I'd highly advise against any and all time travel.
Ah so you would train for years but then probably die of a minor or major injury after your first battle because medicine was terrible, only thing I rmb Romans getting correct was miasma (and although correct was for the wrong reason).
Yeah medicine sucked and my chances of dying are high. It's a high risk high reward. Also please know im not mad, I like debating historical hypotheticals.
Oh same, I prefer the Greeks, invented the metric system, fundamentals in philosophy, maths, science, astrology not to mention politics and their different nations (of which the spartons being most well known in my opinion due to the films).
Oh so you wanna chill with the brainy kids lol I like that. I can't remember completely but I think Pythagoras had like a legitimate following of students that were just that psyched about math I guess. Lol I've always hated math.
Well ye Was thinking more of Plato maybe find atlantis before it dissapeared find out what he meant.
