Ah man, that really sucks about your old pictures getting ruined in the rain! I know how sentimental those kinds of photos can be. Here are a few things you could try to see if the faces can be salvaged:
- Scan them - Carefully scan the photos at a high resolution. Sometimes the digital filling-in process can help clarify blurred areas a bit.
- Mess with settings - Play around with brightness/contrast, saturation, etc. on the scanned photo files. Might bring some details back.
- Photo restoration apps - There are apps like Remini and PhotoScan that use AI to enhance facial recognition and details. Worth a shot!
- Contact specialist - As a last resort, you may be able to send them to a professional photo restoration service. It wouldn't be cheap but they have some crazy skills.
- Embrace the art - If nothing works, maybe it's time to just appreciate the pictures for their unique watercolor effect now. Could turn them into something new like wall art!
Fingers crossed one of those methods can recover at least some of the faces for you. I know I'd be bummed to lose photos from back in the day. Hope you're able to restore some memories! Let me know if any of those suggestions help.
Hmm my mom said someone has a copy of her picture too.
Me- maybe I have to ask from a former classmate from 2002 to 2003 if they have a copy..
I really dont have any of them its really distorted but those people I mention might have them since its class picture and the other one is family picture
Hmm yeah asking a classmate from back then is probably your best bet if your mom thinks someone else might have a copy of the class photo. A few things I would try:
- See if you can get in contact with any teachers or administration from your old school. They may have yearbook photos on file still that you could get a copy of.
- Search your school name and year on Facebook. Often old class groups or profiles get made where people post photos. Someone may have uploaded the class pic there.
- Do you recall any specific classmates that were really into photography or yearbook club? They'd be more likely to have held onto photos all these years. Track them down on social media.
- Post on your school's alumni Facebook page or whatever social was popular in your area at the time (like MySpace lol). Ask if anyone from that class sees the post.
- As a last resort, you could try contacting the school directly to see if old photos are still in archives somewhere.
Fingers crossed someone comes through with clear copies! Let me know if any of those ideas help track down replacements. Would be so cool to see the old photos revived.
Not unless you have digital copies.
