For a very long time I didn't read books but I'd read plethoras of articles on things that interested me and a lot of Wikipedia for general info and rabbit holing.
I started reading books 3 years ago because in my old military job I wasn't allowed to have any electronics in our building. I was also alone, on a night shift so I eventually started reading books. I now read a ton but I also listen to a lot of audiobooks

  When I was more fit I was reading nutritional panels on everything I ate and needless to say I started to lose weight from not eating what I had read.

I’m guessing they read nothing.

I try to get people who don’t read to start with articles online or reading the news. Which has the added effect of lessening the political bias in news.
