Memorial day is soon , for many dead, sad, should comedy shows be banned that day?

do you think tv shows of comedy should be banned here in u. s. on our sad memorial day in may. it seems rude to be silly, comedy on a day to commemorate many who died. agreed?

I agree, no funny movies, take it serious. Add to it... we should have some solumn remembrance ceremonies at the cemetary... and meet veterans at the VFW or on the street, or coffee shops and thank them and give them some rewards. Buy them drinks if they are drunks, food if hungry, and listen to their stories, pray for them and offer emotional support and value. And then spend time with family. All of that is thanks.

We had ancestors whom suffered in WWII and at least one that was killed by a Japanese bomb in China. We should remember and honor her short life. My grandparent was killed in WWII France. And I know a few that came back alive... but that emotional person was gone. Is all death physical... when their innocence was taken? Most of us don't have a clue what it's like to be required to kill someone else, die slowy in a sinking ship, burn for a minute while their plane crashes, or endure what they endured in general.

Also, we should watch war movies and documentaries... so we remember what it took to get what we have. it wasn't pretty...

All us other lazy slugs are getting rich, living "high on the hog", living a good life because other people paid the horrible price.

Memorial Day is supposed to honor all the people who served in the military to keep America free. They sacrificed so we can have the freedom to watch anything we want to. I think that we should remember their sacrifice every time we get to express our opinions without worrying about bein arrested. It could all come to an end.

Veteran's Day is the day to honor all those who served in the military. Memorial Day is to honor all who died fighting for our country. You are right that we should remember their sacrifice.

It is going to be particularly sad for me as this Memorial Day is the first one for me since my boyfriend died suddenly 7 months ago.
He was a Vet. He spent 10 years in the U. S. Navy. 🇺🇸

I don't think anything will be funny to me on Memorial Day. The TV will stay off!

I'm sure not going to celebrate and be happy like someone on here suggested.
I am still grieving over loosing my love.
I don't see why people should be happy and celebrate when someone died. It's a weird and new concept. Probably a new age thing.

Nope. The entire point of a funeral is to honor the dead. In many historical societies funerals or memorials were huge parties to celebrate the dead and to honor there sacrifice. No point in being miserable just to honor the dead. Aside from it being a federal holiday nothing should change.
