What is your favorite sequel, prequel, reboot or spinoff?

These forms of content get a bad rap. I even contributed more than my fair share to that rap! But i’ve recently had a change of heart and mind. I wonder how many of you might agree, at least in terms of exceptions, if not the rule. So what is your favorite sequel, prequel, reboot or spinoff?

I actually enjoyed the Star Wars prequel trilogy - although I've avoided the Star Woke sequel trilogy.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer series was way better than the movie - despite Rutger Hauer and Donald Sutherland's best efforts, and the spinoff, Angel was brilliant.

Frasier was better than Cheers for my sense of humour

My favourite Trek series is Deep Space Nine, closely followed by Enterprise (except the last episode, which took a dump on the whole prequel series by killing one of the central characters)

Friday the 13th 6 and 7. I don't even like the first 3, and when I watch those movies I watch the remake in place of the first 3 original movies. I also like Terminator 2 and think that most of the Star Trek series are better than the original with Kirk. I like TNG, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise better than TOS.

I thought The Thing (1982), The Fly (1986), and The Mummy (1999) were both much better movies than the originals.

Rumble Fish was a better movie (and book) than The Outsiders.

Casino Royale (2006) was my favorite Bond movie and it was sort of a reboot/prequel.

One of my all time favorite movies and arguably my favorite musical is “Little Shop of Horrors”. I only learned a few years ago that it was also a (non-musical) movie from 1960. I watched it and luv’d it. I get to consider them equals because the musical aspect makes them apples and oranges, but they’re almost identical plot wise and the 1960 special effects were pleasantly surprising! If you like the oldies, i recommend it. You’ll be introduced to very young Jack Nicholson and Dick Miller!

Mission: Impossibles Rogue Nation and Fallout.

The Dark Knight Rises.

The Expendables 2.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (The MCU peaked there, if you ask me).

Top Gun: Maverick.

I can't think of many TV shows I like that are spin-offs, unless you consider Futurama to be a spin-off of The Simpsons, with which there was apparently a crossover episode, so you can argue that they take place in the same universe.

Really? I've been in Halloween fan groups and it's the first time I'm seeing someone who liked Rob Zombie's Halloween

Anyways I'll stick with Terminator 2 for the moment , even though I have Rocky and Rambo in mind too

Best prequel: better call saul

I thought that the reboot Hawaii 50 was better than the original. Terminator two was better than the original. The new Quantum Leap blows.
