I can answer that with one picture:

See the eyespots? Those are there to scare off predators. Those are there ON TIGERS to scare off predators. What the hell could prey on a TIGER? I don't know, and neither does anyone else who's not a tiger; presumably, it eats you when you learn about it.
The other possibility is more pragmatic, but no less terrifying:

they roam over about half of the tiger's range, and are about as threatened by them as you are by a horsefly. They're vulnerable when they're calves, but they're pack animals, so good luck finding one alone- and if you DO, and kill it, you'll face six tons of toothy stompy vengeance bearing down on your puny little tiger ass, and you will run, or you will die.
Tigers aren't stupid enough to claim a title that elephants deserve.
First, they live in two different "worlds". Tigers live in rainforest jungles, while lions are found around the savanna. And the reason the lion is believed to be the king is because of the movie, "The Lion King", which popularized that idea.
funny? the title was based on the culture calling lion that.

good point, primitives considered lion a king but lions dont like jungle!
it probably started in fiction when it did not matter, but people like me who don't know about jungles echoed the fiction.
Why isn't man king of the jungle? Men have machine guns, grenades, hunter rifles, and jeeps. When you know who is at the top of the food chain, does the rest really matter?
because lions build kingdoms and tigers shun the spotlight
I thought the lion is the bigger of the two?
lions killed at least 2 humans in 2022 besides injuries. that acts mean
Me and my nephew had this same discussion about 20 years ago. I the it's the size of the fight in the cat. A Lion roars and clears 2 square miles of everything.
`Cause that's the lion's job.
Yeah, and they more often live in jungle!
