Lion vs Tiger, what are the symbolic meanings?

Out of these 2 which would you say has a better and stronger representation of what they stand for, which has stronger meaning? Also at first glance which one would send a deeper message that you could feel a stronger connection to? (if there is any)

Well they both have equal representation, it all depends on the context you're looking at them in. If you're comparing literary depictions of lions and tigers then you've got some pretty solid and deep material. But as base symbols just Lion meaning pride and leadership and such and Tiger being danger, passion and such they're both equal. All base symbols have the same power. It's when you put them into conversation with a work they're from that they gain or lose that power.

For example we have the ver popular Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Aslan is a Lion, he (in a word) represents Jesus/God.

And we have The Tyger by William Blake, in which the Tyger represents rebellion. It inspires fear in those who oppose it, but a good ally and a strong voice, definite action for those who stand beside it.

In my opinion between those two choices the Tyger offers a deeper and more powerful symbolism. But you can look at any number of lion/tiger representations and make the decision for each.

As solo creatures though their symbolism is the same, it only has as much meaning and power as you, the individual, give it.

Tigers are the REAL king of the jungle. Lions are very timid and shy animals. Few people know that. Stronger representation? Historically lions.

Technically lions don't even live in jungles so I guess, but then there's the King of Beasts title.. which imo suits the lion well as it always has. Probably cause I'm used to how things work in The Lion king xD
