Simply having gay characters doesn’t make something “woke”. In terms of “Star Wars”, i frankly don’t care at all. I am a huge fan of “Will & Grace”. They deserved every award they got and then some. But i didn’t even watch “Brokeback Mountain”. I greatly enjoyed that they made detective Tutuola’s son gay on “Law and Order: SVU”, and the entire story arc that came with it. But i never watched “The ‘L’ Word”.
I get what the woke crowd is trying to accomplish. If they could simply admit that they’re going about it all wrong, they could actually accomplish their goals. But they’re young and we don’t make young Americans who are good at the long game. They want everything right now. That’s just not how meaningful cultural change happens.
