Probably not. I don't watch much that comes out of Hollywood so I don't know. I do know that writing, directing, and acting is not nearly as casual as any finished product would suggest. Every facial twitch could be intentional, rehearsed, and perfected. Such hypocrisy that you point out is quite natural when it comes from within but when writing, directing, or acting a distant character's personality it can't so easily come from within. It usually has to be on purpose unless someone is just acting like themselves. But even then, casting them requires impartial knowledge of that element of their personality, which displaces the intention rather than diminish it.
