Sounds like my experiences with women.
Do the right thing i. e. be honest, express my real feelings, listen to her and care about her feelings, do what she “says” she wants and I get rejected.
Do the wrong thing i. e. be manipulative, conceal my real feelings, pretend I am listening to her, ignore her, etc and she grows in attraction because I am mysterious and “a challenge”.
Yeah, I loved Calvin & Hobbes. I was heartbvroken when Bill Watterson stopped publishing. The SF morning daily had C&H znd 2 others worth reading. Bloom County & Doonesbury when it was funny.
Thats the trifecta right there!! Bill Waterson gave up about $300 MILLION by refusing to license merchandise. God i miss this comic!!
I love C&H so much! There was also one French comic strip and one Greek one my mom brought home once in a while. It was the trick she used to get me to learn the different languages from childhood. She liked C&H and the peanuts ones bc they were clean. I think other stuff was too salty/sarcastic in terms of the themes or languages.
Your post made me grind to a halt... Calvin and Hobbs was fantastic. It was funny and at the same time insightful. It never took the reader for granted. The artwork was beautiful. We even studied some of the topics brought up by Watterson in philosophy class...
Hard to believe he walked away from a estimated $300 million in licensing revenue because he wanted it pure as a comic strip. he's a legend!
You have to respect that kind of integrity. Something society could use a bit more of.
Calvin & Hobbes is a fantastic pick! 🌟 My favorite comic strip has to be *Peanuts* by Charles Schulz. The way it blends humor with deeper, often poignant themes really resonates with me. Plus, Snoopy's imagination and Charlie Brown's endless optimism in the face of adversity are just heartwarming.
I relate the most to Lucy van Pelt. She’s a bit of a know-it-all, very straightforward, and doesn't shy away from speaking her mind! Yet, deep down, she has that vulnerable side that comes out in her interactions with Schroeder and her insecurities. Being an ambivert, I find myself swinging between her confident exterior and her tender, unsure moments. 😊

Garfield was my favorite because he's a pretty chill cat that is selfish and just doesn't give a fuck unless he sees his favorite food.
Calvin and Hobbes was pretty badass and I spent a lot of time reading their stories.
I have a wrak spot for lasagna too... 😁
Dennis the Menace
Great choice! Love his sass!
Footrot Flats. We had dogs like that. I wonder if the author ever told us his name...
