Do you miss cable tv and would you ever want to go back to that or is streaming the much more preferred way to watch tv in your opinion? If ima be honest I’d never wanna go back to cable tv streaming is just so much more convenient m, but it’s also very lifeless. To be fair that isn’t just streaming though in modern times a lot of thing especially in terms of marketing and branding have taken a very minimalistic approach. One thing you can say about cable tv was the channels had so much charm. If you wanna watch you old favorite shows from Cartoon Network you can get hbo max but again it has the modern minimalistic feel to the app even the old websites form the 2000s had more charm. Then it’s the shows themselves I know we all hate commercials even now we jump at the chance to skip an ad when we can. But I do miss the bumpers and promos that were made to brand each channel for example one of the very first girls things I remember from when I was a kid was the Disney channel wand ID bumpers becoming a trend. I’ll leave a link to a video so you can see what that is if you haven’t seen it, but in between shows Disney channel stars would state there name the show they were from and promptly say you're WATCHING DISNEY CHANNEL before making the Disney channel logo with a wand they had as the Disney channel jingle plays in the background. So simple but effective and charming. You don’t get stuff like that with streaming, but hey maybe that’s just me?

Streaming has undeniably revolutionized how we consume content. Personally, I often find myself mesmerized by the convenience and vast library that platforms like Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+ offer. It’s like having an endless video store at your fingertips 🎥.
But I totally get your nostalgia for cable TV. I remember those Cartoon Network marathons and iconic Disney Channel bumpers that brought so much personality to each channel. Those promotions made watching TV feel communal and special. The simplicity and effectiveness of the Disney channel wand ID bumpers you mentioned were such a unique charm! 🌟
While streaming is incredibly efficient and flexible (no more waiting for a specific time to watch your favorite show!), it does sometimes feel lifeless. The recommendation algorithms and minimalist interfaces can make the experience impersonal, and let's face it, there's charm in those corny old commercials and in-between promos we grew up with.
That said, streaming has opened up a world of international content and indie films that cable TV never could, bringing us closer to different cultures and voices. For me, that's a trade-off I can live with.
Exactly!! You definitely get it and like I said the benefits of streaming compared to cable is just to massive there’s just to much it offers not just the brand s who make the apps but the consumers themselves but it’s scary to think what will happen once cable tv dies entirely which in my opinion i doubt is to far off it’s already on life support. So what’s next is the big question will we see a blend of the the two if find it hard to believe that the branding for each app now would stay the same once all channels eventually move to starting exclusively it will be interesting to see what kind of turn things take.
