If you grew up in the `60's, were The Beatles ever just another band, to you?

I really liked them a lot but never bothered buying any of their records `til the late `70's, mostly due to limited funds, as a kid and, there were other records I needed more and just figured, The Beatles will be around for a long time so, I'll buy them later when I get a job and a steady income.

Actually they were just another band to ME, but some girls went absolutely nuts over them.
They would cry and faint when they were performing.
I bought one Beatle's vinyl album

Dad got me, "Meet The Beatles" when I was about 7 and, for some reason, it vanished a few months later.
I bought the white album in `69 and it skipped a number of times on the first playing and I couldn't exchange it because I insisted mom buy it for me when we were visiting cousins in Gary, Indiana and we weren't about to drive 8 hours to the Sears where I bought it to exchange it!
I bought, "Abbey Road" around the same time. I got, "Let It Be" about 8 years later and "Introducing The Beatles" about a year later. I also found a white vinyl copy of the white album and bought a couple of those. Then the picture disc version of, "Sgt. Pepper" but it sounded awful and skipped all over the place so, when I went back to Cedar Point a few days later, I returned it.
Around `86, I started getting all the others in the form of newly pressed British imports.
Now, I've got hundreds of hours of Beatles stuff!! Most of it's never been officially released.
