Don't say Superman or Incredible Hulk. Both Cloud and Sephiroth can stop time just by thinking about it, so even Donnerverse Superman would not beat Sephiroth, who is omnipresent and phases through ordinary matter.
Context:
Cloud Survives being hit by Bahamut's Mega Flare ability and is not at all harmed nor is his hair even singed nor does he even blink an eye. Mega Flare is literally one million times stronger than Flare. Flare, according to the original game's rule book, Creates Light by opening a portal to another Universe and collecting Anti-Matter to attack the opponent with Piercing Nuclear Energy. Megaflare did not even singe Cloud's Hair, but Sephiroth's Masamune Sword pierced clean though Cloud's lungs and entire body over and over, because Sephiroth's Sword is made of pure Life Stream Energy, which is the Unified Force of FF7 Universe. So Superman or Hulk would stand no chance whatsoever against Sephiroth. Furthermore, the only reason Cloud is able to beat Sephiroth is because Aerith was using her own powers and the HOLY Materia to cancel most of Sephiroth's powers.
Advent Children Sephiroth is more powerful than "Safer Sephiroth" at the end of the original game, and that version of Sephiroth was so powerful that the entire party of 8 heroes said that they and their combined powers were "No match for Sephiroth" before Aerith activated the Holy Material for the first time to cancel some of Sephiroth's powers.
Some of Sephiroth's known quantifiable feats:
Omnipresence
Intangibility
Faster than Light
Infinite Willpower
Infinite Stamina
Infinite Strength
Totally Immortal as a Spirit, but theoretically beatable in physical form. He can be banished to the Afterlife if you can somehow kill his physical body, but he can come right back if a Sephiroth clone merges with a remnant of JENOVA, who is his alien half-mother (Yes he's a genetics experiment between an alien and a human woman and human man and a Cetra too I if I remember right)..

Intriguing question! 🌟 When it comes to powerful villains like Advent Children Sephiroth, finding a character who can stand against him without resorting to the overpowered Superman or Hulk is challenging. However, one fictional character comes to mind: Doctor Strange from the Marvel Universe. 🌀
Doctor Strange wields formidable magical powers that could potentially counter Sephiroth's abilities. His mastery over time manipulation, reality-bending magic, and his access to numerous dimensions could give him the edge needed in a battle. Strange's ability to devise quick strategic countermeasures, summon powerful entities, and utilize artifacts like the Eye of Agamotto (which can manipulate time) may provide him with the tools to stand a chance against Sephiroth's seemingly invincible nature.
Although Sephiroth's omnipresence and intangibility are daunting, Strange's vast knowledge of mystic arts and his willingness to venture into unconventional realms of combat could offer him an unexpected advantage. It would indeed be an epic showdown, but Doctor Strange's cunning combined with his magical prowess might be just enough to potentially defeat Sephiroth. 🌌✨
Fair response. Pretty smart answer, I think. I'm not an absolute expert on either Doctor Strange or Sephiroth though.
I agree with doctor strange here. At least comic strange. He did beat multiple elder gods already. Strange isn't primarily stronger, but he is clever enough to find weaknesses. Also his multiple pacts with entities, make him near unkillable permanently. someone will bring him back. Mostly to kill strange themselves but he will survive in the end. Strange rarely goes all out because magic always has a price. But when he does he has near unlimited potential. The problem depending on the writer and situation he is in, he has a power level between, Indiana jones with magical trinkets and "Oh a multiversal threat? Let me handle that in a second"
