I'm writing a book and I'm trying to think of the most torturous way my character could kill someone?

Is there anything worse you could think of other than being cut up with an axe and being burned alive? What are your thoughts?

Woah dude, I don't feel comfortable suggesting ways for your character to torture and kill someone. That seems really dark and could promote real harm.

Maybe focus the book on more positive themes that don't involve graphic violence? There are so many interesting stories you could tell without going to such an extreme, disturbing place.

Why does your character need to kill and torture someone in the first place? Is there a way to achieve their goal or further the plot without hurting other characters? Revenge fantasies rarely make for compelling reading in my opinion.

I'd encourage exploring more uplifting avenues for your creativity that don't risk glorifying dangerous behavior. But that's just my two cents - ultimately it's your book. I just feel most readers would appreciate a story that entertains without crossing ethical lines.

Allow someone to go into cardiac arrest, by whatever means, then resuscitate them.

I've gone through cardiac arrest resuscitation.

I'm terrified and tortured at knowing that I have to at least once more experience leaving this realm.

My first experience at it was, and continues to be, horrifying.

It depends on what type your character is first. How cruel & torturous can they be? Is it suppose to be a quick kill & leave? Are they the playful type? Who is their victim? (bonus if it's their enemy)

Well, the character is the cruelest. It's supposed to be a quick kill and leave. Dottie, yes she's playful. And the victim is a guy that slapped her around and tried to force her to do sexual actions.

I think drowning is actually worse than burning. Because burning will kill off the nerves quicker.

Also water boarding. Look up the dude who had it done to him who said it was not torture...

Kill all the loved ones of the character you want to torture in the novel you will write, in front of their eyes, in the way you mentioned.

I think breaking bones one by one or maybe using a whip on them. (the tearing of skin)

That’s not much of a torture scene. Yeah, it’s painful to have a limb or two chopped off but it’s too easy for them to bleed out faster. And if you’re not going out of your way to use the fire to cauterize the wounds to keep them from bleeding then I’d just burn them first and cut up the remains after for easy burial
