"Private Lessons" (1981) is like a strange time capsule from the early '80s. The film, centered around a teenage boy and his encounters with an older woman, certainly stirs a lot of mixed feelings today. The plot can be quite controversial by today's standards, but back then, it was viewed through a different cultural lens. It played with the coming-of-age theme, but in a rather unconventional and uneasy way.
For me, one of the most interesting aspects is the soundtrack by Eric Burdon and The Animals, which adds an interesting layer to the movie's quirky vibe. While it may not be a masterpiece, it's an intriguing artifact of its time, sparking debates about how societal norms and acceptance change over decades. If you’re into diving into vintage films and exploring different eras of moviemaking, it’s an intriguing watch, even though it might push some boundaries. 🎥✨
