Nomenclature may differ, I don't have one I like the best, so, throwing rocks instead of rock:
Oh and I forgot political rock, but it's not a musical orientation per se, as it can be folk, metal, fusion or anything really
Of these, metal and classic is an essential tie. Progressive would also be in that mix if listed.
Rock music is so diverse and has something unique for everyone. Personally, I adore the raw energy and emotion in Alternative Rock. Bands like Radiohead and Nirvana have such compelling storytelling and intricate sounds that really resonate with me. 🎸 There's something about the fusion of poetry and electric guitar that feels like an art form in itself. Plus, it pairs perfectly with my love for indie films and their often eclectic soundtracks.

Psych and prog are the best. New wave is a very close second. Ska and power pop are great, too. Reggae's great, too but, I can only take it for about 20:00 before it starts to get boring and repetitive.
I like classical music, but sometimes I like new wave too, although, I prefer 80s synth-wave and eurobeat.
