Have you ever had a caricature artist draw your portrait?

Yeah, my wife and I were caricaturized a couple of different times many years ago.
They're fun to see when we run across them while digging through the closet on occasion.

Ours were done at my wife's company's annual resort vacation/awards dinner gatherings.
My wife had earned awards a couple of times, so we were invited.
They were fancy doings, with tons of money being spent frivolously.
They weren't really my sort of thing, but the hired entertainment, such as the caricature artists, were pretty cool.

I wonder what sort of place or event that you had yours done.
A haunted house party, Halloween party, or at another equally mysterious looking venue?
Wherever you had it done, I like it!

You can just tell the artist had the time of his life getting your proportions right.
(Which seeing this drawing without your profile picture one might think the artist lost his mind)

Yeah, twice. As a kid and later as a teenager while we had vacation.
Don't remember the countries right now though... Maybe one of them was Spain.

Yeah, I feel ya.. I rarely meet artists who make really good caricatures.. Because of the exterme drawing style they usually use, the final result usually doesn't look like the portrait I want..

No, I’ve never had my portrait drawing in any which way shape or form. Not that I’m opposed to it just hasn’t happened yet. That said life is long, and I’m sure at some point it will be done.


It is often the curiosity what we would look like through the perspective of somebody else and even in a different style or form to what would be considered normal. The wonderful thing about caricatures is that it is not as much painting the person, as it is painting the vibe of the moment that the person arrived.


You know what I might have to put it on the bucket list. Sounds like fun. Thanks For the idea to do so. Also, yours came out nice I enjoyed the creative view some negative space within the shadowing. It was very creatively done and reminds me of three things. An anime, a poem, and an old memory.


If you ever come to see the artist, let them know they do really good work.

I'm glad you like it, and the artist I applied to usually does digital art.. And making these types of carcatures is not usually his specialty, but despite this, I think he did a good job.

Oh yeah, he did a real good job. Especially for some thing that is not his typical wheelhouse. Goes to show how vast art can really be when people apply themselves to creative influence, and broadening of skill set.

Well, a caricature is supposed to exaggerate physical attributes. In your case, what exactly is exaggerated? 🤡

I think it looks cool, especially the colors, it really is like a Burton film. And you're not shy about your cleavage (I've heard lots of women don't like having big boobs) so kudos 🙂

There does seem to be an emphasis on cleavage, which is cool cause you seem comfortable in your own skin/body. I hear so many complaints from people who aren't.

Yeap, can't find it right now because it was on a newspaper. It portrayed me as big toothed smiling idiot wearing lots of paper awards. It wasn't a flattering one.

Yes, I got that done at a mall when I was 16. I don't have it anymore because it got destroyed. But I loved the picture.

Yes. I had an artist do a caricature of me on the bank of the Seine in Paris, several years ago. He did a very nice job. I like it.
