They are known as “hero’s” to the public and it’s extremely commercialized. Tv shows, movies, merchandise, etc. but it’s all just marketing and good PR. They’re all fucked up and evil behind the scenes.

Well if they were real it would be something man-made and everything man made it is cancer causing products or evil because somebody is making something off of it or it's a big fat lie or somebody's cheating somebody or it's a lemon of course look at everything in today's world people take everything and use it to work against others look at all the scam artist on the phone and on apps they found the loophole and they try to rob people so something positive of course they're going to do something even with it because they think they can get away with it even better

Yep just like Light in Death Note. He started out with good intentions but eventually the power of the Death Note got to him. I think anyone with powers would eventually think they are a God and use it because they feel superior to the human race and therefore above it all and become evil.

Totally think most would use it for themselves, I think that’s why the show the boys is sell popular, it’s a pretty good representation of how people would abuse super powers in the world.

We all think we would use it for good, but would it be for the greater good or what is good for us? At what point do we decide what is truly good, and how often is it directly beneficial to us?

Such power would corrupt most people. If not immediately, at least eventually. It would be like Sauron's One Ring. Even if one of the mighty decided to wield it for good, it would in time corrupt that person / entity into a tyrant.

I think that there are people along the whole spectrum between good and evil. Getting powers enhances an already evil person or improves a good person.

Nope I think anyone who gets powers will develop a superiority complex. I think even the best person in the world would end up using their powers for their own selfish reasons. Look at what happens to people who become rich. A lot of them start out okay but end up blowing their money on unnecessary crap and many become bad people. I think even Mother Theresa would have turned bad if she had been given superpowers. Only Jesus could have powers and it not turn him bad because he was the son of God after all.

I'm sure you would try to be the best superhero to the best of your ability but whatever character flaw or flaws you have would only expand with superpowers. Being Superman is just not realistic in the real world. More people would be like Deadpool if they were a superhero. I know for me I would try to be the best superhero I could be but knowing the flaws that I have, I can honestly say I would not make the best superhero. I would be like Light Yagami and let the powers go to my head and develop a superiority complex which I think if most people were honest, they would too. Not saying you are a bad person but just saying you may not always use your powers as best as you think you would. Like think about if someone raped your daughter. Would you really use your powers for good if they did that? You would probably use those powers to torture and kill them.

The American way is corrupt though which is the point of the show the boys. It shows a great depiction of how even the best superheroes fall into depravity. Again I think you are a good person based on your answers and questions on here but we are only human with flaws and those flaws just would exacerbate with superpowers. But I think you would do the best you can as a superhero.

I think you think you would and at first you probably would make a hell of a superhero. But there's a saying in the Dark Knight that I love... "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." No matter how hard you would try to be good, there would be people trying to test your goodness like the Joker for instance. Like the example I brought up earlier, if there was someone to rape your daughter, would you really choose to be good? I know I wouldn't. I would kill him in a heartbeat with my powers. And you also revealed your biggest flaw sir. You overestimate yourself. That's a big character flaw. Remember that we are still human and there are going to be things to push us to a point where we may not make the right choice such as the example I gave.
