I've never seen the need to have a 'superhero', myself, which makes me rather at odds with all the obsessional media focus on 'heroes' etc.

There is a ridiculous assumption which assumes that someone who is world class in one part of life will be ridiculously good at all other things. It's usually not the case.

If you are a ruthless, driven person obsessed with succeeding, the chances of you being generous, kind, empathic and caring is minimal. People like that only behave like that to people they have under their control. They simply can't cope with genuinely emancipated, open, sharing people whatsoever: it offends their win/lose mentalities.

My personal view is that superheroes are very, very different to what you find in the media, film etc. Humble parents who bring up a handicapped child with years of love, support and affect are superheroes in my mind - that takes a deeper well of love than many of us are born with. Superb schoolteachers of the 3-6 year old groups add more value to society than you would believe, but very few of them are highlighted as 'superheroes'.

If you think you need 'superheroes' but also want a safer society, maybe you need to better define what a superhero actually is?

No. Too much credit is given to super heroes.

Not every hero is gonna be Spiderman, Captain America or Superman. What if we have characters like the Punisher, Loki, Venom etc?

Every villain is a hero of his or her own story. If we are going to have superheroes or villains, it would just make everything more complicated.

Obviously no. If super hero's exist so do super villains, also super hero's can do evil things. The amount of times super man has become evil is way to many.
Along with just normal fighting between hero and villain can cause a lot of destruction and death in-between.
However if you meant vigilantes such as Arrow people without actual powers then it would be safer. Because that's just better versions of cops working out the system of the government to take down criminals that already exist.

Since you literally used the word “heroes”, of course the world would be safer. There might be a question if we’re talking super humans or superhuman entities, some of which could, and likely would, go villain as opposed to hero. But heroes are heroes. They do good things for good reasons.

If we take Marvel as an example then the world has faced annihilation countless times and the earth has been destroyed even more. The world might be far from perfect but at least we dont have super heroes and whatever they are supposed to fight against.

This is one of those answers where it's kinda uncertain.. I just know that the more power somebody has, the more they'll slip into dictatorship.. But at the same time there will be good people who rise to stop those dictators,, and actually try to do the right thing by helping people.. Also the collateral damage would be crazy.. The worst thing that could befall humanity right now would be nuclear war.

But imagine people with super powers who are bullet proof, can turn invisible alter the fabric of reality and imagine them abusing those powers.

In my opinion, it would be worse because you would have people that would purposely try to do bad things just to meet heroes or challenge them, there would be Super villains trying to kill us almost every day that cops and military can't stop plus regular criminals distracting Super heroes, and governments as well as people would be jealous trying to outlaw Super heroes especially creating crazy laws and to much politics.
